Weston Mirl Wyatt was born on April 18th, 1944 in Clovis, CA, as World War II was coming to a close. He was the only son born to Weston and Pearl (Brantley) Wyatt. He was raised in a home with one brother, Ronnie Dean and two sisters, Ella and Evelyn. Weston enlisted in the United States Navy on October 4th, 1961 in Fresno, CA, serving as a Clerk/Typist, and served honorably until his discharge on April 14th, 1965 at San Diego, CA. He remained in the Navy Reserves until his honorable discharge on October 3rd, 1967. He married the love of his life and his best friend, Evelyn Ann Wolf. They raised a family of a son James, and a daughter, Ahniwahe. There were two sons and one daughter from a previous marriage, Allen ,Matthew, and Shannon. He earned his living as a glazer in the construction industry. When the work was done, you could find Weston, or Redbud as his family knew him, heading to the creek, for a little relaxation and a little fishing. He enjoyed a good round of golf and a chance to relax watching old westerns and sci-fi or catching up on his reading. He loved a date night with his wife and loved to take her dancing. He was the kind of friend that could help you solve a problem, could bring calm to chaos, and always had a hug available if you needed one. He liked working and enjoyed interacting with people, yet the view from his own backyard was enough for Redbud. His children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy, and his love for them was beyond measure. Redbud’s health began to decline and he passed from this life on June 15th, 2023 in Muskogee, OK, surrounded by the family he loved and adored. He was 79 years old and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, his mother and father, his beloved wife, Evelyn Wyatt, his son, Matthew Mirl Wyatt, his brother, Ronnie Dean Reynolds, and his two sisters, Evelyn Wyatt and Ella Irene Underwood.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, James Weston Wyatt of Tahlequah, and Ahniwahe “Ahna” Hendrickson and husband Ronnie “Chooch” of Tahlequah, OK . The children from a previous marriage include Allen Mirl Wyatt of Grapevine, TX, and Shannon Marie Osborne and husband William of Sand Springs, OK. He lives on in his six adored grandchildren, Angel Wyatt, Nathaniel Wyatt, Jeffrey Wyatt, Heather Hendrickson, Bailey Osborne, and William Osborne, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
Memorial services for Weston Mirl Wyatt will be conducted on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery with Navy Military Honors at 11:00 AM. Reverend Rex Hendrickson will deliver the message of comfort. Online condolences for the family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
