Wileta "Willie" Bliss

Wileta Lee McCollum Bliss was born July 4th, 1955 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of William and Ima Jean (Shirrel) McCollum. She grew up with one brother Ben, and attended school in Tahlequah. She then decided on a career as a Registered Nurse, receiving her degree at Bacone College. She dated and married Jack Benjamin “Benjie” Bliss on July 23rd, 1985, and together they enjoyed many years of love and laughter. She had a large heart and it showed, her clients were always treated with dignity and respect, and her family meant the world to her. She loved any chance to go to the river, and she and Benji made frequent trips. She loved the great outdoors and always planted a large garden, her flower beds were perfection! She was a wonderful homemaker, who enjoyed cooking and keeping the gardens. Wileta had a smile that would light up a room and a laugh that made you happy. She always put others needs ahead of her own and she lived to make others around her happy. After Benjie passed away, she remained at home until her health no longer allowed. She passed from this life in McCloud, OK at the age of 66. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she made better and all the love she gave.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, her mother and father, and her husband Benji.

She is lovingly remembered by her step son, Joshua Bliss and wife Melissa of Tahlequah, her brother, Ben McCollum and wife Sherry of Tahlequah, one niece, Renda Elliott and husband Sean and their children, her three nephews, Zack, Aaron and Braydon McCollum, and her two grandchildren, Emily Dodd and Jade Dodd, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.

Funeral services for Wileta Lee McCollum-Bliss will be held on May 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Tahlequah City Cemetery with Pastor Bill Holcomb officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack Benjamin Bliss. Online condolences for her family may be left at www.reedculver.com.
