

Welling, OK- Graveside services for William Wesley Johnson will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Caney Cemetery in the Caney Community. Brother Luther Taylor of the Welling Church of the Firstborn will officiate. Family condolences may be left online at www.reedculver.com.
William Wesley Johnson was born on September 7th, 1937 in Cherokee County, OK , the son of Enoch and Elsie (Collins) Johnson. He attended school at Cave Springs. On January 21st, 1957, he married his sweetheart, Bonnie “Lorene” Smith. Together they shared 56 years of marriage and raised two daughters, Wynona and Linda. William worked for the Cherokee County Water District reading meters in the Welling area. When he wasn’t working, you could find William riding 4-wheelers around the property, hunting wild turkey and deer, and enjoying a simple life on the family farm, raising hay and cattle. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and gospel. William was a family man. He enjoyed any chance to spend the afternoon with his family and friends or sharing a cup of coffee and a friendly chat. He had a wonderful sense of humor and liked people. He enjoyed keeping life simple, no complications. He was a Christian by faith and a member of the Welling Church of the Firstborn. The Lord called William home from his labors on December 27th, 2013, at his home in Welling. William was 76 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
William is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, his grandparents, and one baby son, William Wesley Johnson Jr. in 1958.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Lorene of the home in Welling, and his two adored daughters, Wynona Johnson of Welling and Linda Daily and husband Joe also of the Welling community. His legacy lives on in his four grandchildren, Wesley Taylor, Cameron Taylor, Ashley Daily and Amber Daily all of Welling and one great grandchild, Laney Taylor, of Tahlequah, OK.
