I was recently thinking of Alice and how I wasn't able to express my condolences at the time of her death. So now, Mickey and family:

Alice was a good friend to me and all the ladies in our cancer support group. She was always thinking of others, even when she was going through tough times herself. She was sweet and fun to be around. I miss her.

Mickey - You may not remember me - it's been quite a few years.  But back in 1991, I met you and Alice at the kick-off meeting for the University of Alabama alumni association.  I remember many a Saturday at your house cheering on the Tide.  When the game wasn't going well - there was the 'lucky' chair and Will's head to rub.  Alice was a very special person and over the years as I ran into her around Tallahassee, she always had a smile and was ready to talk football.  My thoughts and prayers are with you, Meg [from Margaret; not Megan] and Will.

Rest in peace sweet Alice. I will always remember you as  one classy lady, who never knew the word "no" when asked to help with any school functions I called and needed parent volunteer assistance to get done. Special hugs to Meg & Will.

Alice was a great friend. so many wonderful memories from long ago when we were growing up in Mobile.  Rest in peace my dear friend.

Alice and i shared the great year of Leadership Tallahassee, Class 20. She was a wonderful, caring women that i so enjoyed being around.  When Alice entered the room , it lit up.  She was truly a light to those who met her.  My Sympathies to her family .

Hey Will, Meg & Mickey.  We are all so sad to hear of this, but so happy to hear Alice is in a place with no pain.  Ashley and Alex live out of town but hopefully Steve and I can come to the service, I just learned of her passing today.  All of our thoughts, prayers and memories are with your now and forever. Alice was always such an inspiration and role model for me.  So kind, so smart and someone you could count on.  Look out heaven, the marketing genius has arrived!  Mickey, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

We hadn't kept in touch but I have fond memories of our neighborhood and all of the children playing together.  Alice you were so warm and easy to be with and we'll always remember you.

Our sincere sympathies to Mickey and family.  Judy and I  really enjoyed knowing Alice and Mickey and the shared times at various neighborhood get togethers.  Alice was such a nice person and we will always have good memories of her.

We will miss you, Mrs. Alice! Go rest high on that mountain, and know that your family is strong, courageous, and loves the Lord. There is no greater life story than one lived for Jesus, and you exemplified that!

I was so sad to learn this news just now.  Just last weekend, I was telling a new neighbor of the wonderful times we used to have with our standing block parties on Avondale Way.  Mickey, you guys were the best neighbors, and I have missed visiting with you over the years.  Liz and I have been in Savannah for the past six years, and it's just not the same as those old great days.  

Alice was a delightful lady, and as welcoming as anyone we've ever known.  I loved looking at the pictures that are posted and seeing how your family has grown.  You are certainly the distinguished patriarch.  You guys did really good.
