AJ, you are dearly missed by all who knew you and loved you.  Your Uncle Rick and I loved you and we love your mama as well.  We know you're with Grandma Jane and Papa Dick and your dad, watching over all of us and at peace.  We'll be there for your mom whenever she needs us, and we love you and the sweet memories we have of you.

Amanda Jane, how can you be gone?  
Amanda was a true force of nature and we loved her dearly.  I often called her “Amanda Jane” because I knew she would give me “the eyebrow”.  I can still see it as if she were right here!  But now she is with her Grandmother Jane.  She probably has her laughing her head off!  
Gary and I struggle to comprehend Amanda’s passing.  She was a huge and wonderful presence in our lives for many years.  So smart, so FUNNY, so talented, so clever, kind and compassionate.  The road trips, OMG!  The bargain shoes and jewelry, the “Rescue Rangers”, and most of all, the laughter!   It’s hard to imagine this world without her in it.  But as hard as it has been for us to understand, we can only imagine how impossibly painful it has been for her amazing mother, Nancy.  Amanda was her precious Baby Girl and forever friend.  They took on the world shoulder to shoulder.  Surely Amanda is with her still in all things, in her heart, whispering in her ear and cheering her on to a place of healing.  May Nancy find her way back to fun and laughter consoled by all the GREAT memories she and Amanda shared in her all too brief time on earth.  Our hearts go out to Nancy, Amanda’s Grandmother Jimmie and their extended family.  All who knew Amanda were blessed beyond measure.

I knew Amanda's lovely mom better than I knew Amanda herself.  Nancy was VERY proud of her daughter and the woman she had become.  She took pride in Amanda and her accomplishments.  I do realize that Nancy misses Amanda more than we can even wrap our heads around, but I believe in my heart that Amanda would want her mom "out there" and enjoying life to the fullest and treasuring the many good times they shared together.  Sadly, life doesn't come with any guarantees, but a daughter's love for her beautiful & wonderful mother will never end -- it will go on forever!  Bless you Nancy -- you "done good" as a mother, friend & inspiration to Amanda.

I worked indirectly with AJ while working on the grants for the HCSO. I am shocked and saddened at the loss of such a gifted and generous soul.  AJ was always cheerful and helpful in her professional approach and it "showed" through the telephone conversations we had.  What also showed was her sense of humor and my heart goes out to her family, friends and peers during this extremely difficult time.

I have had the pleasure of having AJ as our contract manager for years.  We always looked forward to her monitoring visits as she was always professional and very kind.  She never hesitated to help us any way she could.  She will be missed.

Amanda worked for the Child Protective Investigation Division of the Manatee County Sheriff's Office from July of 2003 to October of 2004.  We are saddened to hear of her passing and extend our thoughts and prayers to her family during this very difficult time.

When my mom told me about Amanda's passing I felt such sadness, but it also prompted me to remember all of the fun times Amanda and I shared as young girls...  Of course, there were the times swimming in the pool, riding our bikes and playing house or school (we could not start "playing" until every last detail was in place - this was always Amanda's idea). I also remember you both trying to teach me how to tease my bangs, then spray the heck out of them with hair spray - I could never do it as well as you guys.  I remember riding in your car on the way home from Westshore Mall and you let us blast the radio and put the windows down while we were driving over the Causeway (I felt so grown up)!  For some reason, I loved playing "store" with Mike's cash register in the garage - Amanda always let me be the cashier.  These are a few of the things that pop into my head when I think of Amanda.  We had a lot of fun with the other kids in the neighborhood and she was a very special part of my childhood.  I am glad to have been her friend and I hope that you will find comfort in remembering some of the great memories I shared with Amanda.  I'm not in Florida anymore, but the old neighborhood will always remind me of you and Amanda and the great times we had.

I work at DCF, but didn't work with A.J., but I recall her having a sweet personality when I did see her. I was saddened to hear about her passing on last week, which I know she will be missed dearly.

It is always hard to lose a loved one. We love our family but God loves them best. It was God's will to bring his angel home. Rest in Peace Amanda and I pray God provides the comfort your family will need to get through this loss.

I did not know Amanda at all, but I was included in the distrbution list on the e-mail at work where the news of her untimely passing was announced. I read her bio, and felt a kindred spirit in that my wife and I are also the proud "parents" of three adopted rescue dogs. Now in reading her obituary, I feel an even greater kindred spirit because like her, I am not only a graduate of FSU, but also of Dunedin High School, the "brother" schood to Countryside. (This was a year or so before Countryside High School was built...) May AJ's memory be a blessing for those who knew and loved her.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
