

Ann was born on April 22, 1935 in Tampa Florida to Lewis Wesley and Henrietta Johnson Petteway. She graduated from Leon High School and was active in the band playing the clarinet.
Ann attended Baylor University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. She played the clarinet in the Baylor University Golden Wave Band and drums in the pep band. Upon their graduation she married Donald Lynn Sparks of Waco, Texas and they relocated to Tallahassee, Florida. Don passed away in 1964.
Ann returned to school to earn a cosmetology degree from Lively Vocational Tech. She raised her two children and married Joe Earl Causseaux, Sr. When her children were in middle school she enrolled at Florida State University and earned an accounting degree as well as a Masters in Taxation. She also passed the CPA exam and earned her CPA license.
Ann worked for the Florida Public Service Commission as the Bureau Chief of Tax and later as the Bureau Chief of Safety in the Electric and Gas department. Following her retirement from the Public Service Commission she did not quit working. She was very active in her church, Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church. She supported missions and went on several mission trips. She also supported the Good News Club via the backpack ministry. She helped cook Wednesday night meals as well as donating food to families that had lost a family member. She worked with many of the youth.
She loved flowers and planting them in her yard as well as oil painting. She was also an avid reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and her son, Russell A Sparks Causseaux. She is survived by two children, Sherri Meador (Joseph) and Joe Earl Causseaux, Jr (Michellet) and two bonus daughters Carla Sparks and JoAnne Causseaux, two grandchildren Evenly Sparks and Lewis Sparks and one great grandchild Katie Hayes.
A visitation will be held at Culley’s Meadowwood on Riggins Road on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 4 pm to 7 pm in Tallahassee, Florida.
A visitation and Memorial Service will be held at Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 11 AM to 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers donations to Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church for missions, or the Humane Society.
