Art was born on February 4, 1941, in Tiffin, Ohio, at Mercy Hospital.
At the age of 18, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served with distinction for 10 years as a First class Aviation Ordnanceman. During the Vietnam War, he served on 9 Naval ships and received multiple metals, including two Bronze Stars, for his courage and service.
After his honorable discharge, Art began a successful career as a master carpenter. He specialized in architectural design, custom-built homes, woodworking, and cabinetry-leaving a legacy of craftsmanship and artistry. Art also built his shrimp boat and became a well-renowned fisherman from the St. Marks River to Punta Gorda and Marco Island. Art also owned and operated The Sportsmans Paradise Pub, now known as Outz's Oyster Bar.
Art was preceded in death by the love of his life, Martha Till; his mother, Phyllis Ruth Hubbard; his loving stepfather, James Adamson; his father, Lester William Miller; and his beloved sister, Pamela Ann Miller.
He is survived by his brothers, Mitchell Miller, Steven Miller, and Marshall Miller; his sister, Jamie Ruth Adamson; and his stepdaughter, Faith Kaczmarczyk (Frank). He leaves behind his loving daughters, Nicol Ann (Shane) and Stacy Hutton (Raymond), as well as three cherished grandchildren: Timothy Hutton (Kimberly), Ryan Perez (Kayla), and Blaiden Ward. Art was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Sabrina, Chloe, Raelyn, Kennedy, and Dawson.
Art loved his family, friends, and life itself. He never met a stranger. With impeccable manners, he was quick to stand and tip his hat when he met a lady- a simple gesture that reflected the kind of man he was: respectful, warm, and kind.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the special friends who enriched our dad’s life: James Revell, Tim and Dawnette Garlock, "Smokin" Joe Young, and Jerry and Kathy Shirah.
