It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Darkes, a cherished wife, mother, relative, and friend. She departed from this world on May 3, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering strength.
Born on July 26,1949, Barbara graced the world with her presence, bringing joy and warmth to all who knew her. Throughout her life, she exemplified compassion, generosity, and a boundless capacity for love. Her gentle spirit touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
In her role as a wife, Barbara was the epitome of devotion and partnership. She shared an unbreakable bond with her beloved spouse, Daniel, navigating life's highs and lows with grace and resilience. Their love was a beacon of light, inspiring all who witnessed it.
Beyond her role as a devoted wife, Barbara was a loving mother whose love knew no bounds. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing her children, instilling in them values of integrity, empathy, and perseverance. Her legacy lives on through the lives she helped shape and the love she shared with her family.
In addition to her family, Barbara was a cherished friend and confidante to many. Her compassionate nature and listening ear provided solace and support to those in need. Whether offering a kind word or a helping hand, she touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we mourn the loss of Barbara, we find solace in the memories we shared and the love she bestowed upon us. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her grace.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Daniel Darkes; her daughters Kristin Ogles (Tim) and Shannon Reed (Stephen); and her grandchildren Cade Ogles and Morgan Reed; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at Culley’s Meadowwood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312 on June 5, 2024 at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The American Heart Association, in honor of Barbara.
May she rest in eternal peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
