Benjamin “Ben” Quick Varick of Tallahassee, Florida, passed away at the age of 54 on June 9, 2021, at Big Bend Hospice in Leon County due to complications from a lifetime of fighting diabetes. He was born in Valdosta, Georgia, on December 24, 1966. He was married to Suzanne Braswell Varick on November 9, 1996.
Ben had a career as a Property Management Professional for 35 years. He had a passion for the outdoors, enjoyed his property near the Apalachicola National Forest, and had an enthusiasm for rescuing animals.
In addition to his wife Suzy, he was survived by his brother, Michael J. Varick (partner Jacque St. John) of Oviedo, Florida; brother-in-law, R. Scott Braswell (wife Terri L.) of Apopka, Florida; nephew, R. Mathew Braswell of Apopka, Florida; nephew, Jonathon C. Varick (husband Hunter D.) of Raleigh, North Carolina; and niece, Devyn L. Varick of Oviedo, Florida. Ben was predeceased by his brother, Jeremy H. Varick; niece, D. Heather Braswell; father, John (Jack) W. Varick; and mother, Floreda (Sunny) D. Varick.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 10:00am – 12:30 PM on June 27, 2021, at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 700 Timberlane Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32312.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to Big Bend Hospice.
