
A native of Brooklyn, New York, Kotick served in the United States Navy during World War II. He served as a leader in the garment industry in New York City and was a member in good standing of the Goodfellows Corset Society. In 1968, he and his family relocated to Tallahassee, Florida to pursue a manufacturing business in Thomasville, Georgia, where he served as plant manager of Joan-Art Mills, for almost thirty years. Upon retirement in 1996, Kotick pursued his lifelong passions of golfing and fishing, and enjoying his six grandchildren.
Kotick's wife Shirley passed away in May 1998 and he is survived by his three sons, Lee of Tallahassee, Florida, Scott of Calabasas, California, and David of Astoria, New York.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Culley's MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel, with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Culley's MeadowWood Timberlane Road Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida 32308.
