Betty Ann Martindale, 83, died peacefully on May 13, 2016 after a brief illness. In her final days she was completely surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born on November 28, 1932, in Washington, D.C. She was the oldest daughter of Henry and Nelda Klopp. She had two older brothers, Kenneth and Durwood, and three younger sisters - Nelda, Eunice, and Naomi - whom she loved dearly.
Betty was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Allan Martindale. She is survived by her loving husband of over 64 years, Dorman (Dale) Martindale; her sisters, Nelda and Naomi, and her brother-in-law, Carl; her three children, Deborah Courtney (husband Bill), David Martindale (wife Linda), and Sharon Roberts. She is also survived by a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all regard her as "the best grandmother in the world": Sara Nordlof (husband Eric and children Zachary, Justin and Annika), Katie Peacock (husband Robert and children Adrian, Anna, and Hayden), David Martindale II, Bethany Mathers (husband Trent and children Keely and Rowan), Laney Winder (husband Jeramy and son Kai), Kristi Roland (husband Glenn and children Wyatt and Thomas), Jamie Roberts (daughter Jordan), and Michael Roberts. In living her life as a devout Jehovah's Witness, she gave her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the greatest gift of all - the gift of unconditional love.
