Betty Lou “Boots” Smith, age 91, of Chaires, FL; (formally of Kiowa, Co) passed away Thursday, September 27th in Tallahassee. “Boots” was born December 20, 1926 in Sioux City, Iowa. She was the daughter of Rex and Clara Smith of Fremont, NE.
“Boots” loved horses and anything to do with horses, but that was not her only hobby. “Boots” was an avid fan of FSU women’s sports, attending every game she could. She enjoyed riding her tractor and was a wiz at playing cards. “Boots” loved her family and spending time with them.
“Boots” was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her friend, Lois Jean Greene; her brother Harold and his wife Jan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, their children and their children’s children.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home at 700 Timberlane Road in Tallahassee. The family expresses that dress will be extremely casual.
