Bobby D. Lyons

He joined the US Navy in 1943 and was stationed in Greenland as a Para Rigger 2nd class. He later lived in Winter Garden, FL and Tallahassee, FL where he was a car dealer.

Bobby joined the Killearn Country Club in 1969 as an avid golfer. He played in the Tallahassee Open Pro-am in 1971 and was Bob Hope’s host for the celebrity golf tournament.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Winter Garden Elks Lodge and the Tallahassee Elks Lodge. He was also a Noble of the Mystic Shrine.

Bobby is survived by his children Pat Lyons, Carrabelle, FL; David and Debbie Lyons, Carrabelle, FL and Mitzi Lyons Register, Tallahassee, FL. As well as his grandchildren Zac Lyons, Tallahassee, FL; Lacy Register, Los Angeles, CA; Jacob Register, Tampa, FL; Robert and Richard Lyons, Thomasville, GA and great granddaughter Maddie Lyons, Brooksville, FL.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brothers Frank and Mack Lyons and sister Janet Thaxton.

The family will receive friends at Culley’s MeadowWood – Timberlane Road on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 10am and Graveside Services will follow at 11am.

The Lyons’ family asked that you join them in wearing casual attire for the service.
