Bruce W. Meadows

Bruce was born in Auburndale, Florida on October 11, 1943, to the late D.W. and Edna Meadows. Raised in Lakeland, Florida he married Betty J. Meadows on May 22, 1964. Bruce served in the Vietnam War and after returning home, Bruce and Betty moved to Tallahassee in 1971, where Bruce spent the majority of his 35-year career with Publix Super Markets working as Produce Manager at the Apalachee Parkway Store.

Bruce loved spending time with his grandson, road trips with his wife and family, fishing, and building bird houses.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty J. Meadows; daughter, Sharon Watson and her husband Robert and his grandson Blaine of Tallahassee; his brother, Billy Meadows and his wife LaJean of Lakeland; his sister, Janice Wyatt and her husband Barry of Lakeland; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32308, followed by a reception. A private viewing for family will be held at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
