Celia C Matthews

Celia Berlanga Matthews joined God's embrace on June 11, 2020 at the age of 87 years in Tallahassee, Florida. Words fail to describe our Angel on earth. Her smile, sense of humor and love touched so many people. She was born in Spain on April 15, 1933. She met her husband, Lowell, while he was stationed overseas with the United States Air Force in 1959.

Their love for each other transcended culture and language culminating in a romantic wedding in Casablanca, Morocco. Their union would span 62 years and result in 5 Children, Maria Isabel, Patricia Ann, William Don, Dawn Marie and Lowell Jr., 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Celia is predeceased by her older brother Paco and sister Marie. A surviving sister Milagros (Cuqui) lives in Ceuta, Spain.

Celia's words of wisdom and love for family and life are irreplaceable. She loved to dance and music filled her with joy. Her family grieves but thankful to God for sharing his Angel with us. We take solace in that her spirit resides in everything good in life. She is our sunrise providing warmth and love all the days of our lives.

We thank the Lord for our blessings. At Celia's request, no public services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, a humble donation to the Alzheimer's Project of Tallahassee would be much appreciated.
