

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on October 29 at Christ Presbyterian Church of Tallahassee, 2317 Bannerman Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32312.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward John Cook, of Geneva, NY. She was born on New Year’s Eve of 1921. Connie received her BA degree in home economics from William Smith College. She made corpsmen medical bags during WWII. She met the love of her life, a Chief Petty Officer of the US Navy, Neil Marvin. They were married on December 18, 1943.
During their stay in Geneva, she was known for her flower-arranging, book club, and as a “pink lady” at Geneva General Hospital. She enjoyed sailing and swimming at the Geneva Yacht Club, and golfing at the Geneva County Club, where she got a hole in one. She arranged flowers for church and provided lilies for Easter, in remembrance of her family. She looked forward to vacations with her family at the Adirondacks League Club. She learned to fly fish from Lee and Joan Wulff and accompanied her husband on several Atlanta Salmon trips. She was a “Rotary Paul Harris Fellow”. When her children were grown, she took a job as an Assistant Director of Administration Office at her alma mater, William Smith College. After her husband retired, they moved to Tallahassee, FL in 1982 and became members of the Golden Eagle Country Club, where they spent a majority of their time golfing. They played a quarter hole against each other and made several new friends. They each had their own foursome.
They joined the Springtime Tallahassee Spanish Crew. They were supporters and fans of FSU and went to many games. She was an avid churchgoer and had many friends in Tallahassee.
She raised 3 children, Carol R. Shelly and spouse, of Wilmington, Del., Marilyn H. Fuller, of Naples, Fla., and William E. C. Marvin, of Tallahassee, Fla;. She has six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Connie was well known for her love of family, traveling and being an amazing hostess to parties that are still being talked about. She was elegant and she had a close circle of girlfriends. So on December 31st, raise your glass in Memory of Connie!
