Daniel Weaver Buie

Dan is survived by his wife, Fran Buie, of Tallahassee, Florida; his son, Gregory Buie, of Brevard, North Carolina; his daughter, Mellissa (husband, Aaron), of Tallahassee, Florida; and grandsons, Benjamin and Aiden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leila and Ray Buie, of Miami and Sebring, Florida.

Dan was born on May 24, 1951 in Miami, Florida to parents, Ray and Leila Buie. He graduated from Florida State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Shortly after graduation, he married Fran. The couple had two children together. He worked in retail management for several years. In 1988, he accepted a position as a police officer with the Tallahassee Police Department where he worked for 26 years.

Dan was always looking out for the needs and interests of people close to him and he never did anything half way. For example, if you had cats, he would present you with a multitude of things that had cats on or about them. He loved teasing friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 9, 2023 at 2pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, Florida.
