David E. Jensen

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home 700 Timberlane Road (850)8934177 Timberlane Chapel.

He was a graduate of Eastman and Florida State University Schools of Music and was a Music Professor at Florida A & M University and Jacksonville University. He was a member of the Third Army Band in Fort McPherson, Atlanta and performed with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. He enjoyed electronic music as well as woodworking.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Alice Lucas Jensen, of Tallahassee; children Phillip Jensen (Lynne) and Peter Jensen (Ysonde) of Tallahassee, Catherine Bonner (Chris) of Bradenton, Linnea Lourenco (Luiz) of Tallahassee and Derek Jensen of Albuquerque, NM; brothers Dale Jensen (Barbara) of Sarasota, Richard Jensen (Mary Ann) of Bradenton, Dan Jensen (Penny) of Tampa; and Step-Mother Ellen Jensen of Largo. He has thirteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
