son, Kurt. David was born and raised in Bloomfield, New Jersey, graduated from Tufts
University, and attended John Jay Law School in Chicago, Illinois. His business career began with Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, then to Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corporation which brought him to Tallahassee in 1973. Shortly
thereafter, he joined Leon Federal Savings and Loan/Sun Federal Savings and Loan
where he progressed to Senior Vice President. After the Anchor Bank merger, he
worked for the State of Florida Housing Finance Agency and the Department of
Business and Professional Regulation until his death. One of his greatest pleasures was his over 20-year association with the Florida Marine Patrol, now The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, where he was a
reserve officer. He made many lasting friendships among the officers. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (bestfriends.org) which he supported and
where he volunteered. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and three cats. Arrangements were handled through Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home.
