

Dollie Rebecca Harris Jones, 82, passed on to meet her Savior on May, 26, 2013 in Tallahassee, Florida.
"Becky" as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was born in College Park, Georgia (near Atlanta) on April 1, 1931. She graduated from College Park High School as a 3 sport letterman in basketball, swimming and tennis. She spent her summers as a lifeguard at Spring Lake. Becky graduated from Milligan College in 1952 with a B.S. degree in Physical Education. She taught Physical Education at Russell High School in Atlanta. Becky was an accomplished tennis player and instructor. She was well known around the courts of Tallahassee and helped get several women's leagues started back in the 1970's and 80's. She was also quite the golfer in her later years playing in the Women's Association at Hilaman Park. She was always a fierce competitor and usually said whatever she was thinking. Becky was also an accomplished wood worker. She took classes at Lively Vo-Tech and made quite a number of pieces of fine furniture in her shop, many of which continue to adorn her family's residences. She also built an oak pulpit for Capital City Christian Church, where she and her family have been members for the past 40 years.
Becky was the daughter of Glenn (Peepaw) and Virginia (Meemaw) Harris. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Thomas Paul (T.P.) Jones who passed away on December 8, 1981.
She is survived by a brother, Robert Harris of Sharpsburg, Georgia; a son, Greg Jones and wife Kelly of Tallahassee; a daughter, Kathy Folsom of Tallahassee; and 3 grandchildren, Hunter and Alisa Jones and Katelan Folsom; and loving caregiver Marilyn Bryan.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 28th at 5:00-7:00 pm at Culleys MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road with a Funeral Service Wednesday, May 29th at 3:00pm at Capital City Christian Church, 6115 Mahan Drive with interment at Roselawn Cemetery.
