

Doris Andrews Brown, age 86, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, surrounded by family and friends.
Doris was born on November 7, 1926, in Tallahassee where she was a lifelong resident.
Doris was a devoted wife and mother to her husband of 54 years, George W. ("Mud") Brown Jr. and her son George W. Brown III of Tallahassee and his fiancé Jennifer Fountain.
She is remembered as gentle and loving, living a life of active faith and loving dedication to her family, friends and work. Doris was a member and teacher of East Hill Baptist Church where she served as Director and Teacher of their weekday pre-school program from 1966 through 1976. She was ordained as a deacon in 1999. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Florida Baptist Children's Homes, in Tallahassee, from 1976 through July 1996. Earlier in her career she was a charter member of the Tallahassee Chapter of the National Secretaries Association in 1954 and was a member of the business sorority, Beta Sigma Phi.
Remembering her faith and love are her sisters, Theresa J. Andrews of Tallahassee and Margie A. Seidel of Mississippi; aunt, Johnie Rhodes of Tallahassee; nieces, Deborah A. Barker and Lara L. Seidel; nephew, Robert C. Butler and wife Heidi Updike Butler; cousins, and loving and supportive friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 25, 2012, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Culley's Funeral Home at Riggins Road Chapel, Tallahassee. Graveside services will be on Monday, November 26, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Cemetery on Piedmont Drive, Tallahassee. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Hill Baptist Church.
