

Edmond L. Moore, 84, passed away April 15, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Eddie Lee Kelly Moore. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Ed’s memory.
Ed was born in Akron, Ohio, but his family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio when he was three months old where he spent his youth and was schooled there. He attended Withrow High School and graduated Madeira High School and the University of Cincinnati where he received a BBA degree. He also attended graduate school there. Ed was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha national college fraternity.
He entered the US Army at the end of WWII and served in Germany in the army of occupation. As a reserve officer Ed was recalled during the Korean War and was posted in various places in the states. He was subsequently discharged as a Captain, Military Intelligence and Security. Ed spent many years as a Counter Intelligence Officer for the US State Department, Foreign Service. He covered all of Southeast Asia, but was permanently assigned to the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand. He was also posted in Belgium where he covered the Benelux countries. Ed served as a Senior Instructor for Eastern Airlines in Miami and retired from the State of Florida Insurance Department.
Ed was a Catholic and a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church where he and his wife worshiped.
He also belonged to the Capital City Republican Club, Military Officers Association of America, American Legion, Capital Tiger Bay Club and Economic Club of Florida. He spent three years as a volunteer at TMH.
He is survived by his wife Eddie, daughter, Melanie S. Moore of St. Petersburg, FL, and stepsons Colin Colson of Tallahassee, Brinson Colson of St. Augustine, FL, and Kelly Colson of Denver, CO. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean Eliot Moore.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL.
