Fendall was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on September 29, 1936. He spent his entire career in the Millwork industry beginning in 1962, working with his brother, William, at B&S Lumber Company out of Glasgow, Kentucky. He had a long tenure at Bass & Company in Columbus, Georgia before moving to Tallahassee from LaGrange, Georgia in 1984 to help open a branch of Dyke Industries. He had a large number of employees that respected him and followed him to Strictly Wholesale, and eventually retiring from Dyke Industries. He always had a passion for woodworking and took great pride in maintaining his yard. He loved FSU football and Nascar as well. He was even more passionate about his family, providing for and supporting them in every possible way. He was a true southern gentleman.
