

Garet is survived by his wife, Nancy Bowling; his children, Amy Adler (David), Melissa Milligan (Greg), and Garet Bowling Jr. (Idania); siblings, Steve Wiltsie (Jane), Shirley Hearn (Bob), Sharon Wilcher, and Karen Figlar (Dan); as well as his 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Garet is preceded in death by his mother and father, Herbert and Frances Bowling.
Garet was born on November 7, 1947, in Jackson County, Indiana. He graduated from McArthur High School in 1965. He married Nancy Greer in 1968. Garet Bowling served two tours (101st and 82nd Airborne) in the Vietnam War. He began working for Greyhound as a Bus Driver from 1974-2004, before moving to Pinckard, Alabama with his family in 1977. His family and friends will always remember him for his warm smile and giving nature.
A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 11:00 am at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308. Funeral Service at 12:00 pm. Burial with Military Honors at 2:00 pm at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL 32311. A reception will follow at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Garet’s life. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Garet’s memory may be made to Mayo Clinic Brain Bank, http://www.brainsupportnetwork.org
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
