

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home-Riggins Road Chapel (850-877-8191). A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. CST at Buffington Cemetery in Castleberry, AL. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice.
Gladys was born in Evergreen, Alabama and moved to Quincy, Florida at the age of eight and graduated from Quincy High School in 1951. Upon graduation she joined the U.S. Air Force and was trained as a PBX operator. Gladys also was a licensed practical nurse in Mobile, AL, and in 1966 returned to Quincy with her five children where she was a telephone operator. She later moved to Tallahassee where she worked for and retired from the Florida Dept. of DCF.
Survivors include Fernmarie "Marie" E. Spires (Randy) of Tallahassee, Richard "Rick" Edwards of Cumming, Ga., and his children, Eric and Jenna, Dennis Edwards (Sherry) of Quincy and their children Brandy and Brandon, Janet Moran (Jim) of Tallahassee and their children Julie Watterson, Angela Hemanes, Adam Moran, Teresa Edwards of Tallahassee; one brother, Lloyd Castleberry (Bernice) of Quincy and their daughters Dinah and Julie; one sister, Twyla Sullivan of Castleberry, Ala. and her son, Curtis; and devoted family friends, Trudy Barineau, Lee Fuller and Mandy Anderson.
Arrangemenrts are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahassee, Florida.
