

Glen Page, 89, died peacefully at his home in Tallahassee on October 14, 2014. Born July 7, 1925 in Wakulla, Florida he was the youngest son of B.F. Sr. and Fannie Page. In 1943, while still in high school, he was drafted by the New York Giants, but upon graduation joined the United States Navy serving in World War II. After the war he was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers and pitched for 3 years in their minor league organization and that of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He joined the Tallahassee Fire Department in 1951 retiring as a District Chief after 34 years of service. He also worked locally for many years with his dear friend Don Pumphrey of Don’s Tree Service, and was a familiar face around Bradley’s Country Store where he made many friends and acquaintances as the “Pecan Man.” In 2008 he was elected to the Leon High School Baseball Hall of Fame.
An avid outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting and fishing the woods and waters of Wakulla County with his brothers B.F. Page, Jr., and Edward L. Page, Sr., (both deceased) and his son Michael. He was especially fond of Live Oak Island spending many happy years there with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Mamie Bradley Page, his son Michael and his wife Carol, two grandchildren Joseph and Brittany, two great-grandchildren Grace and Gavin, and many nieces and nephews.
