

Gloria S Goddard, 72, passed through this life and entered eternal rest, from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease ,while in the care of Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee on the evening of April 22, 2013..
Gloria was born December 28, 1940 in Atlanta , Georgia, was raised and attended school in College Park, Georgia. During her high school years she was a member of the band as the Head Drum Majorette, and following high school, she attended South Georgia College and was a cheerleader while studying there.
Gloria was hired by Eastern Airlines in 1961 as a stewardess based in Chicago, which allowed for travel throughout the Eastern U.S. and the Caribbean.
While living and working in Chicago, she met her future husband of 51 years, Bruce, who also was an employee of Eastern.
Gloria then moved to Atlanta with her husband, became a homemaker and mother until 1967 when her husband's job took the family to New York. Miami and finally settling in Tallahassee in 1975.
While living in Tallahassee the past 38 years, she was an employee of Killearn and Golden Eagle Country Clubs as secretary, The Earl Bacon Agency and lastly as a program coordinator for the Office of the State Court Administrator located at the Supreme Court of Florida. She retired from that position in 2006.
Gloria loved to travel and has visited many areas of the USA and Europe. She was a cheerful, sociable person who very much enjoyed meeting with her many friends at Killearn and taking part in the social activities of the club , including dancing. She also enjoyed having friends and family to her home and spent many hours with visitors there.
Gloria is survived by her husband Bruce, Son Brian, (Andrea) granddaughter Mackenzie,
Daughter Kelly, (Brian) and granddaughter Ashley Rose, all of Tallahassee, and Brothers James Segars of Auburndale, Fl and Richard Segars of Fayetteville, Ga.
She was pre deceased by her Father and Mother, James and Stella Segars of Atlanta, Ga.
Per her wishes, Gloria will be cremated and no services are planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be sent to Big Bend Hospice and/or The Alzheimer's Association for research.
