Ben and Iris really encouraged me as a youth and new Christian at Fellowship Baptist Church. His legacy is one I strive to achieve, To love everyone as Christ loves the church. Thanks Ben for helping lay the foundation in my life at a young age. You are a hero!

Rev. Hammett was my Education Minister when I was a child and teenager at Killarney Baptist Church in Winter Park.  He always demonstrated the joy and love of Christ in all of his interractions.

We have fond memories of Ben at First Baptist Church in Winter Park.  And then we recommended him to First Baptist of Pinecastle. He's been a blessing to many all these years.  I'm sure the Lord said "Well done, good and faithful servant." Our love and prayers are with you.  Murray and Nancy Pardue

We remember Ben from his time at Fellowship Baptist Church.  He used to also work at the polls.  He was always cheerful no matter where you saw him.  Someone previously used the reference to "Gentle Ben.".

To the family of Ben Hammett, I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Ben at Seminole Baptist Church, Tallahassee, Fl. He was a sweet, and kind man. We shared a love of reading. I was always seeing him at the public library.

Aunt Iris, Fred, John and family. Words cannot express how much we love you all. Even though it has been a long time since we all have been together. Uncle Ben will be missed so much more than we can put into words. He is with Pop and Granny, Frances, Jesse, and all that have gone on before him.  They are having such a wonderful time reminising about all the wonderful memories, Thnaksgiving, & Christmas dinners all the kids wondering when Uncle Ben & Aunt Iris, Fred & John will be there, vacations (especially the summers that I spent with you when I was growing up) One day we all will be back together in heaven. Uncle Ben, rest in peace, at the right hand of GOD our heavenly Father. Love

This man understood greatness! He was the personification of a servant. He improved my life because I knew him.

To know Ben was to love him.  We have so many wonderful, fun, and happy memories of the times we shared at Fellowship Baptist:  Children's Ministry, Camp Joy, Bible Drills, and so much more!  His kind and gentle spirit was truly an outpouring of God's love.  Ben will forever be with us in memory.  We are blessed because we knew him, and we celebrate the life God gave him on this earth. Aunt Iris, Fred& John. Sorry to hear about uncle Ben. Though we haven't seen all in such a long time you have been thought of more than you will ever know. I remember and cherish all the great times at pop & granny's. Uncle Ben always taking us to the beach and ice cream. Memories and love can never be erased. Just know you are in our prayers and now mom and uncle Ben  are sharing  and catching up.
