
Born October 19, 1924 in Moultrie, Ga. He was the son of the late Walter J. Martin and Mary Magdalene Russ Martin. Tony served three years in the U.S. Navy Armed Guard in World War II, going in shortly after graduating from Moultrie High School in 1943 and was discharged in March 17,1946. He was very proud of his three years in the Navy. Tony was a member of Bradfordville First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Magdalene Martin, granddaugher, Teresita J. "Tessy" Pellor (Danny), great grandson, Mordecai, sister, Margaret Bannister (Ray) of Coolidge,Ga. nephews, Lamar Seay, Harold Wayne Pettijohn (Jackie), Cle Bannister, nieces, Ann Blair (Denny), Teresa Hall (Rusty), great nephews, Brian Blair (DeAnn) Cleburn Bannister (Katherine), great nieces, Catherine Chastain (Paul), Miranda Mullins (Rodney), Roslie Parrish (Chris), Charley Hall, and several great great nephews and nieces.
Tony was preceded in death by his sisters, Katherine Seay and Mary Evelyn Pettijohn, brother in law, Jesse Pettijohn, nephew Raymond Seay and great nephew Harley Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. today, Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel, with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bradfordville First Baptist Church or the Childrens Lighthouse Home.
