

The funeral service will be held at 3pm Saturday, May 21 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home on Timberlane Road. Pastor Tony Legear will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, May 20 from 6-8pm at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow the funeral.
Born in 1928 in Lawrence, KS, Imogene moved to Beatrice, NE during her adolescence and graduated from Beatrice High School. Imogene is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mabel Mefford, her brother, Lloyd Mefford and her husband of 38 years, Cecil L. Ratcliff.
As a young adult Imogene was one of thousands of young women who flocked to Washington, DC after World War II to aid the post-war effort with their secretarial and administrative skills. While in Washington, Imogene was employed by the Department of the Navy. It was here that she met and married Cecil Ratcliff in 1949.
Imogene and her family moved to Tallahassee in 1958. She was employed at the Florida Department of Administration until her retirement in 1986.
Imogene is survived by her five children, Steve (Kathi) Ratcliff, Richard (Nicole) Ratcliff, Ken (Janis) Ratcliff, Ellen (Douglas) Johnson, and Karen (Mark) Johnson, as well as 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations are given to Covenant Hospice, 1921 Capital Cir NE, Tallahassee, FL 32308.
