

Rev. Iris Gray Worrell, 83, of Wakulla County, was surrounded by family as she entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 18, 2016 in Tallahassee after a lengthy illness. She was born to Lewis and Durlie Gray on August 8, 1933. A lifelong resident of Leon and Wakulla counties, she graduated as Valedictorian of Crawfordville High School Class of 1951. She retired from the State of Florida DHSMV, Division of Driver Licenses in 1998. While not her full-time vocation, ministry was her calling. She was an Ordained Minister in the International Pentecostal Holiness Church and the former Associate Pastor of Harvest Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents; oldest son, Dennis Worrell; brother, Ivan Gray; grandson, Joshua Lynch; and niece, Pamela Thompson. She is survived by her son, Ira Worrell of Milton; daughter, Brenda Ryman (Gary) of Carrollton TX; grandson, Austin Ryman of Carrollton TX; sisters, Barbara Thompson (Melvin) of Tallahassee and Patsy Melvin of Milton; brothers, Lewis Elton Gray (Janie) of Tallahassee and Walton Gray (Lynn) of Yuba City CA; 10 nieces/nephews and a host of other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Road Tallahassee. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Aenon Baptist Church, 6073 Blountstown Hwy Tallahassee with interment following at Aenon Cemetery.
