Jacob Carl Pew was born December 22, 1926 to Jacob C. and Eliza H. Pew in Thomas County, Georgia. He attended Thomas County public schools. He entered the United States Army in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1975. He enjoyed learning and furthered his education by attending several colleges. He was a well-known chef at the Florida State Capital where he was employed for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Retha Mae Lee, a brother, Tommy Pew, and a niece Lisa Jones.
He leaves to cherish his memory one brother , Merrion Pew (Nancy), two sisters, Annie McIntyre (Peter), and Emma Hill; a special aunt, Ruby Humphrey; nieces and nephews, Sylvia Lee, Brenda Reynolds (Lawrence), Alfreda Lee, Rhonda Washington, Merrion Pew Jr., Sarah Robinson (Robert), Linda Gregg (Nehemiah) Ronnie Pew, Cassandra Howard, Peter McIntyre, Jr. (Letisha), Eric McIntyre, Kimberly Gholston, Kechia Scott, Shannon Gholston, Kathy Lanier, a grand niece, Candace Howard, a grand nephew, Warren Howard, Jr. , as well as a host of other special grand nieces, grand nephews, other relatives and friends.
