It's with deepest sympathy I sent my condolences. May God give you the strength and encouragement you will need to go through this trying time.

Dr. Hawkins was a mentor and a friend. He was a role model. I will miss him dearly. My heartfelt prayers to his family. He was a part of the school of journalism history and, more important, it's heart. Doc was the best.

It seems only ten years ago that we were all in college; I would visit here when home from Gainesville and you were the Sabbath School teacher...
 What a great friend you are to me. And my heart goes out to you and Jason in deepest sympathy for the loss of a wonderful husband and father. 
Remember that you have extended family here who love you very much and are praying for the Lord to lead you in a mighty way at this difficult time.

Dr. Hawkins was my first boss. I was a freshman at FAMU and I had work-study  a student assistant in the Division of Journalism. Thanks "HAWK" for all of your wisdome, patience and understanding. I appreciate you for showing me the way! Rest in peace and many blessings to the Hawkins family!

Dear Judge Hawkins and Son,
Memories are snap shots from the heart, they last, forever.

What can you possibly say to a family that's experiencing such a deep loss? Please be reminded, however, that God will grant you His sweet peace in the midst of your sorrow -- He has promised to do so... Please accept sincere condolences from Doreen and Donny in Miami -- we mourn with you.

To our brother Jim, 
you will be truly missed, Our prayers goes out to the family. I will never forget, how you placed your reputation on the line for me, I will always be forever grateful to you. I will always remember the battles, Robert, Blocker, Calvin and my self, on the golf course. Maria and I were at the Memorial golf tournament, on the 30th of May to see Tiger play, I said this is for Calvin and Jim. We will never forget you and  your  driver "BLUE  DIAMOND" Rest until Jesus returns.

Unlike most, I have only came in contact with Dr. Hawkins very briefly on one occasion and that was to go over my schedule and to find out what my problem was because my grades were slipping. That one time Dr. Hawkins was so very understanding...words just cannot explain. 

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. Dr. Hawkins was a wonderful person. The world would be much better if there were just a few of him. To the family, stay strong and lean on god and those that care for you the most.

My heart goes out to each and everyone that was blessed to have known him.  Years ago when I returned to a life that I know I should have been living all along, Elder Hawkins was one of the men at Maranatha that started me on a path to working for the Lord.  He was always kind and generous with advice when I came to him with an issue, but never told me what to do. To the Hawkins Family, I will pray that God bless and keep you all during this time of loss.

We are thankful that we met Jim,Judy, and Jason on out walk through this world. They made us feel welcomed many times in their home wherever they lived. This week has been tough for us knowing that we will not see Jim whenever will come to visit there in Tallahassee. We wanted to be there on Monday, but circumstances will not allow us to be. Love Juliette, Joelle and Pretoria.

Judy, Jason, Eric & Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I write in loving memory of a wonderful friend, Christian gentleman, academician and person of remarkable excellence.  It was my privilege to know and call Jim, my friend.  While he is and will be sorely missed, please know that we shall see him again! I Thessalonians 4:13-18.

Dr. Hawkins was the best of FAMU, the best of professionals, and the best of people. He loved all of us students like a father. He kept  up  with us and continued to encourage us through the ups and downs of our careers. It's been almost 20 years since I graduated but only a few months since he "liked" a post on Facebook. I don't have a negative word to say about him.  Mrs. Hawkins and Jason, I pray God gives you peace that passes all understanding.
