

James Chris "Jimmy" Kalfas, 59, entered into rest January 22, 2010. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. EST Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church,1647 Phillips Road, with burial at Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. EST at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (850-893-4177). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 712 East 7th Avenue, Tallahassee, FL 32303. Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee. He was a graduate of the Rickards High School Class of 68, and received his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Florida State University. Jimmy was a devoted member of the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church. Along with his family, he was a former co-owner of the Silver Slipper Restaurant, a Certified Public Accountant with 32 years of service with the Dept. of Revenue where he was a Dispute Resolutions Mediator. Jimmy's community involvement included membership at Killearn Country Club, Shriner, and the Masons. He served as President of the Vantanas Homeowners Association. Jimmy was an avid golfer, pilot, triathlete, sports fisherman, and a Florida State Fan. He is survived by his soul mate, Connie Weinstein and her two daughters, Jessie and Jaime Weinstein; one brother, Bill Kalfas and wife Phyllis; two sisters, Tina Leonard and husband Scott, and Sara Kalfas and husband Jeety Bhalla of Chicago; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Eleanor Kalfas; and his grandparents. Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Tallahassee, FL.
