
James Carlton Thompson, II, 69, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at his home. He is preceded in death by his father, James Carlton Thompson, and mother, Aloyce Edna Thompson.
He is survived by his life partner, Mary Mathis; son, James Carlton Thompson, III and wife Lisa Fillmore Thompson, granddaughter’s Hunter and Serena Thompson, and grandson Bradley Thompson; daughter Jennifer Thompson Ouzts and husband Greg Ouzts, and grandson Lane Ouzts.
Carlton enjoyed spending time at Lake Seminole and working in his shop. He had many talents—he was an amazing artist, could build anything, was an excellent mechanic, and was the best welder around. He taught many how to weld through the years. He was truly a master of his craft.
Carlton graduated from Leon High School, Tallahassee, Florida in 1969. He was a retired Construction Superintendent and had vast knowledge and experience in the iron work industry. He had a hand in building many places in and around Tallahassee over the years. He retired from Ironwood Construction in Havana, Florida.
Carlton will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
