Janet Inez Revels

Janet Inez Revels was born in Tampa, FL on September 3, 1934 and passed away peacefully on October 14, 2017 at Heritage Health Care Center, Tallahassee, FL. Janet was one of five children of Betty and James Revels. Due to problems encountered at birth, Janet lived with her mother and grandmother most of her life where she enjoyed the comfort and safety of a family environment. Our family was fortunate to know and love Janet who entertained generations of our children with games and stories that still resonate with so many of us. Everywhere Janet went was where Janet wanted to be. Our family would personally like to thank the staff of Heritage Health Care Center where she lived for the past 17 years. Everyone was very kind to her and everyone loved her as much as her family did.

Janet was predeceased by brothers Jonathan Revels, Jim Revels and sister Joan Revels Shepherd.

She is survived by her brother Jack Hayward (Lynn) of Westfield, MA, as well as Joanie Sharman, her niece, who became her caregiver and advocate upon the death of her mother. Joanie is an angel on earth and provided Janet with the love and support so few family members could give. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Life Celebration Memorial will be held 2:00pm at Heritage, 3101 Ginger Dr., Tallahassee on Sunday October 22, 2017.
