

Jean Dolores Bellucci Buro passed peacefully, March 4, 2012.
She was born March 14, 1916, in Potenza, Italy, and immigrated in 1920 to the United States. Her young life was spent in the Bronx, New York with parents and siblings. She worked during the Great Depression as a dental assistant and married Dominick Buro in 1942. They moved to Miami, Florida in 1953. She lived in Homestead, FL for 30 years as a devoted wife and mother. She also helped run the family pizzeria until 1971. She moved from Homestead in 1986 after the death of her husband Dominick. An accomplished cook, Jean was known for her Italian cuisine. She was also a talented seamstress and loved to crochet. In her later years she still cooked nightly and enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing bingo with her friends.
Jean is predeceased by her parents, Luisa and Pasquale Bellucci: her siblings, Jenny, Dolores, Lee and John; and grandson, Christopher.
She is survived by her siblings, Nancy Pipchinski and Michael Bellucci (Arlene; daughter, Elena Chatel (Richard); son, Dr. Ron Buro (Carol); grandchildren, Angela Chatel, Christina Moseley (Shawn), Dominick, Jeanette and Nicole Buro, Bradford Dutton; great-grandson, Nathaniel; and many loving nieces and nephews.
There will be no public viewing. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Thomasville Road at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Jean's life will follow at the Chatel home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Big Bend Hospice, loving angels who made Jean's last days as comfortable as possible.
