

Jeanette (Jan) Kelley, 76, of Tallahassee, passed away peacefully at home with her daughters by her side on Saturday, February 14, 2015 in Tallahassee, FL. Jan was born in Bainbridge (Vada), GA to Mary Lizzie Crosson and Woodrow Palmer. Following Mary Lizzie’s divorce in 1941, she moved her and Jan to Thonotosassa, FL to be with her family. Following her mother’s death in 1949, Jan was adopted by her aunt and uncle, Jesse and Wilma Crosson and gained three brothers-Carl, Jim, and Ricky. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1956 and went to FSU in Tallahassee, FL on scholarship. She worked in state government for 36 years, including the State Road Department, the Public Service Commission, and the Department of Revenue. She made many life-long friends and was a member of the Democratic Women’s Association. She was an active member at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church for 50 years and her church family was very important to her. Her life ministry was to raise her children in love and to respect and serve others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Randall Kelley, her mother, Mary Lizzie Crosson, her father, Woodrow Palmer, her adopted mom and dad, Jesse and Wilma Crosson, and her brother, Jim Crosson. She is survived by daughter Anna Pistelli and her husband Danilo, daughter Courtney Gardner and her husband Derrell, brothers: Carl Crosson (Merrilyn) and Ricky Crosson; and four loving grandchildren: Anthony Pistelli, Daniella Pistelli, Savannah Gardner, and Will Gardner.
The funeral service will be held at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at 11:00am. Following the service the church will provide a light lunch. Burial will be at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park after the luncheon.
