

Jessie Harrington Burnett, 86, died peacefully at home in Tallahassee on September 29. She was born February 15, 1925, in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of Sallie Mann Harrington and Ben Harrington, Sr. and a fifth generation Floridian. She grew up in Jacksonville, graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and lived most of her life in Florida .She worked many years as an administrative secretary and executive assistant and retired from Florida Department of Agriculture in 1987. After retiring she designed costume jewelry and proudly participated in craft events selling “Jewelri by Jessi.” She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ben Harrington, Jr. Survivors include her three children, Cheryl Burnett of Tallahassee; Douglas Burnett (wife Jeannie) of Weaverville, NC; Patricia Baccus (husband Steve), O’Fallon, MO; four grandchildren, Cherish Brown, Jacksonville; Sean Turkington (wife Christina), Tallahassee; Bryce Binney ( wife Jill) of Tampa; Sophia Baccus , O’Fallon, MO; and two great-grandchildren, Sunny Parker, Jacksonville and Logan Binney, Tampa, FL. Also surviving are two brothers, M. Nicholas Harrington, Tallahassee; and C. Tracy Harrington, (wife Judy), Bainbridge, GA; three nephews and three nieces; and many special and devoted friends. A service for family and friends is planned for a later date. Burial will take place in Swift Creek Cemetery in Union County, Florida .Memorial Contributions may be made to Refuge House, (P. O.
