John Edward Houston

After graduating from Leon High School, John proudly served his country in the US Military as a member of the United States Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he began working with the State of Florida retiring after a successful career with the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles.

Later in life John became active with veterans groups in Tallahassee and had a special affinity with a group of Vietnam era veterans. He also loved collecting all things Harley Davidson. When traveling, if he saw a Harley Davidson Store, he would always make time to stop in to pick up memorabilia.

John was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister, Shirley Sanders and brother-in-law, Charles R. Sanders; 2 nieces and 2 nephews as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel.
