Josie worked as a hair stylist in her salon in Merritt Island for many years. In 2004 she retired and moved to Tallahassee with her husband Major John Haynes. Known for her meticulous appearance and for always being well put together, she loved standing at her husband's side at his many military related events and conference's throughout the country. He would often be complimented for always having his beautiful wife at his side.
Josie had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. She'd often be found in her garden working and enjoyed watching her vegetables and flowers grow. She didn't cook often. She was a master at making reservations for dinner.
She was a wonderful wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and faithful friend. She will always be remembered for her caring nature and her love of family.
Josie is survived by her husband of 19 years, Major John L. Haynes, Sr.; daughter Patricia Richards; and son-in-law Dean Richards, Sr.; step-daughter Susan E. Carabello; step-sons John L. Haynes, Jr. and Michael Oleksik; grandchildren Kristi Blanchard, Dean Richards, Jr., Duane Richards and Jeremy Kinson; great grandchildren Bradley Lonic, Brittany Lonic, Daniela Blanchard, Cole Richards, Kate Richards, Joshua Richards, Jeremiah Richards, Tensaye Richards, Aiden Kinson and Madison Kinson as well as 2 great-great grandchildren.
