Joshua David Major

Joshua David Major, 22 of Tallahassee passed away on Thurs., Oct. 9, 2014. A lifelong resident of the area, Joshua was born on Nov. 13, 1991. He attended Fort Braden Elementary / Middle School, North Florida Christian (NFC), TCC and FSU. Joshua was a proud member of the NFC Football Team when they won the Football State Championship in 2008! Joshua was an avid sports fan and also loved the outdoors. He was also a member of Fort Braden Pentecostal Church. Joshua was the Manager (Manager Major) of Beef 'O'Brady's in Crawfordville. Joshua is survived by his parents Deborah Duncan (boyfriend: Jim English) and step-father Michael Duncan of Tallahassee, Fl; father Michael Major of Tallahassee, Fl; brother Jessie Yates of Havana, Fl.; sister Audrey Major (fiancé: Charles Church) of Cairo, Ga.; girlfriend Jessica Benton of Tallahassee, Fl; grandmother Judy Kelley of Tallahassee, Fl.; aunts and uncles: Julie & Dole Slayton, Martha Heuring, Susan Brumbley, Mia Bennett, Clayton Shelnutt, Michael Marks, Rex Shelnutt, Wanda Duncan, John & Johnaia Duncan, Sandra Burnside Trest, Gayle Burnside, Stephani Major Fenton, John H. Major, C.J. Major, Jim Kittredge; and many cousins. Joshua is preceded in death by his sister Lauren Duncan (2008), grandparents Oliver & Helen Duncan, Daniel Shelnutt, Yvonne Frith and Harvey Major.A visitation will be held on Wed., Oct. 15th from 5-7 PM at Culley's Meadowwood Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Rd. Joshua's Celebration of Life will be Thurs., Oct. 16th at 2 PM at the funeral home followed by a celebration at Beef 'O'Brady's in Crawfordville at 6PM.
