Kyle was born in Annapolis, Maryland and spent the majority of his life in Tallahassee, where he met his wife, Anne Elise Desotell.
He was passionate about his vocation as a police officer for the Florida State University Police Department, where he was loved by both fellow officers and the people he served. His favorite place to unwind was by the water, whether at the beach or on a lake, and he spent countless hours repairing and upgrading his trucks. No matter where he went, he was always sporting a hat.
Those closest to Kyle knew he loved penguins - how they mate for life and how the fathers care for their young. He was selfless, loyal to his family and friends, and had a quick wit. One of his most endearing qualities was his drive to help others – Kyle never met a stranger. He was known for his big smile (earned the nickname “Officer Smiley”) and his even bigger heart.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Anne Elise Desotell (and their cat, Dash); his mother, Debra Coville; his father, Walt Coville; his sister, Kelsey Alisasis; his brother, Alex Coville; his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins; and many beloved friends he regarded as family.
To continue Kyle’s legacy of generosity towards those in need, donations can be sent to Emergency Care Help Organization (ECHO) or Salvation Army Tallahassee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the FSU Student Union Ballroom, located at 75 N Woodward Ave, Tallahassee, FL 32306. The service is scheduled for February 10, 2026, starting at 5:30 pm.
