

On the 30th day of December, in the year 2011, LOIS IRENE WATSON DAVIDSON of Tallahassee was delivered unto the arms of our Lord and Savior. Lois was born at home on a farm in southern Georgia on June 12, 1924 to Hershel and Mattie Watson. After high school, she moved to Atlanta, Georgia where she resided with close relatives. While in Atlanta Lois worked with ,a company that supported the war effort. Later, meeting Victor Herbert Manuel, a decorated war hero that had been wounded in battle fighting as a tail-gunner on a
B-17 (flying fortress) and was later located to Lawson General hospital in Atlanta. Lois, soon became
his wife. After marriage, they relocated to Tallahassee, Florida, where they raised a family of three children, two daughters, Vicki Dianne (Manuel) Hopkins and Deborah Jean (Manuel) Johnson, one son, Kenneth Charles Manuel.
Lois later worked with the City Of Tallahassee as the personal secretary to the City Manager Arvah B. Hopkins for more than 17 years until she retired, making Tallahassee her permanent home.
Lois was preceded in death by her late husband, Samuel T. Davidson. Also, close to her heart was
a loving chihuahua, Bebe.
She is survived by her three children and their families who were so much a part of her life:
Mike and Vicki Hopkins of St. Teresa Beach and family; Ken Manuel of Tallahassee and family; Dale and Debbie Johnson of Santa Maria, Calif. and family; and a very special companion, her beloved chihuahua, Dancer. Survivors also include 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Lois's belief of treating animals, “as we would like to be treated” was paramount. Her wish is any contributions or considerations made in her name be to the local animal shelter, animal rescue, or any animal aid facility of your choice that supports animal welfare.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at the residence of Brian and Tori Haley on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
She will be missed greatly, never forgotten, and will be celebrated in our hearts forever. We miss you, we miss you so much, LOVE from us all.
