Lorena R. Alford

Alford, Lorena R. passed away on September 26, 2015. Formerly of Atlanta and Washington,GA; Lorena was active in the Tallahassee Garden Club, The Rosebud Circle, and was in charge of the plant exchange for many years, as well as being active in many other committees. She was also a member and past president (1992-1993) of the Ladies Auxiliary of Military Officers Association of America. For 14 years she was faithful and brought her cat Warren on visits for The Pet Partners , a part of The Delta Society.

She was an Officers wife, traveling the world with her husband; Lt. Col. John Alford while raising 4 children and taking care of all the animals she could help; all while enjoying bridge, reading, and bowling with her friends. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, John Alford and is survived by her loving children; John (Cheryl) Alford, Kitsy (Michael) Mann, Phoebe A. Alford, and Jeff Alford; Cherished grandchildren; Christopher, Philip, John Lee, Trina, Paytin, Uvon, Younard, Kaitlyn, Alison, and 4 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home (1737 Riggins Road, Tallahassee). Burial services will be private.
