Loretta and I were best friends, starting in 5th grade. I have so many memories. She was spontaneous. FULL of life, loved to laugh, and very frugal. She was her parents pride & joy. As a little girl, she was amazing! on the piano- way ahead of her years. We met as kids at a sleepover at MaryKays house- in elementary school, and the rest is history. We got to be close when the teacher assigned her to be my accompanists (I sing). I have so many stories. She used to pitch pennies at kids under the practice room door. We took a sewing class together. We went on trips together. Once we went to a shoe sale and had to transfer buses 3 times to get to this store, but Loretta wasn't going to miss this sale. We both bought a gang of shoes. When we tried to get on the bus with all those bags and boxes of shoes, we both stumbled and everything fell all over the street: boxes, lids and shoes, everywhere, and we couldn't stop laughing long enough to pick it all up. The bus driver was not amused with us. I am grieving the loss of a lifelong confidant and friend. We did so many funny things. She would pick me up to go for Pancakes and go someplace an hour away because she "heard it was good". I hope to tell all my stories to Ashley & Ethan. I remember helping her move in to her apartment in KY where she lived when she met Roy. We were in one another's weddings. We threw showers for each other. I drove to KY to see Baby Ashley, and ran down to the hospital when Ethan was born in Cleveland. And she was always there for me, in a way that only Loretta could be. As life moved on, we were busy with kids and businesses, and work. But we were always in one another corners, as much as we could be.
My most sincere Condolences to Roy, Ashley and Ethan. She loved you so much. You were her life. Roy, God Bless you for taking such good care of her. May your happy memories carry you to comfort. May she be at peace with all illness behind.
RIP , Loretta Marie. I love you. Marsha

Loretta, was my childhood friend. She used to live across the street from us on Brysdale Ave. Cleveland, Ohio. I used to babysit her for Mr. and Mrs. Curtis. We played a lot of games together. So sad at her passing. RIP Loretta.
