

Lucille Cox Webb, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died peacefully in her sleep, September 2 at Westminster Oaks where she had been a happy resident for 13 years. She was the last living survivor in her family of eleven children born to Percy and Florence Rhodes Cox. Lucille was born in Brandon, a suburb of Jackson, Mississippi, October 26, 1918. She married her husband, Wayne Sutton "Spider" Webb, Sr., and after a few years of married life in Jackson, the family moved in 1952 to Jacksonville, FL where they raised their children. In 1965 the Webb family moved to Tallahassee.
Lucille was quite an accomplished homemaker, exceeded at sewing beautiful clothes, and was referred to by many as the "best cook in town." In her spare time she enjoyed playing bridge, china painting, needlework, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid fan of college football and loved watching golf tournaments on TV.
Lucille is survived by her two children, W. S. "Spider" Webb, Jr. (Gayle), and Linda Webb Knox, her grandchildren W. Sutton Webb, III (Holly), Thomas Collins Webb, Scott Knox (Michele), and Jennifer Knox Gordon, and, her great-grandchildren Jackson, Palmer, Brackin, Fulton and Anna Webb, Haley Knox, and Alan and Jake Gordon. She is also survived by her dear friend, Louise McMullian, who helped to bring so much joy to her life over the last 13 years. The family also wishes to thank all the kind nurses and staff at Westminster Oaks for their wonderful attention and personal care to Lucille in these last few years.
