

Mary Etta was born in Sheridan, Indiana, January 25, 1916 and passed away peacefully August 27, 2013, after a prolonged illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Donald Loucks.
A loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, she had a lifelong passion for education and wisdom and truth. She loved her community of Tallahassee. As a teacher at Leon High School, she participated in the education of many of those who would provide leadership and service to Tallahassee and elsewhere. She spent countless hours as a Tallahassee Memorial Hospital volunteer and delivering Meals on Wheels to those less fortunate. She was recognized by the Southeastern Community Blood Center for many gallons of blood donations.
She passed down to her children and grandchildren life’s lessons that have guided them and served as a compass and inspiration for whatever successes they have achieved.
She was a good and kind person, loved by all who knew her. We are all better people for having had her in our lives. She will surely be missed.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Dillard, and son and daughter-in-law, Don and Tara Loucks, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren and many in the circle of her loving extended family.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Westminster Oaks for care rendered to Mary Etta and her husband, Donald, during their extended stays there. There will be no formal funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to to Meals on Wheels or the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Foundation.
