Matthew William Kelley

Mr. Matthew William Kelley, age 55, passed away at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, Florida, on August 8, 2020. A Celebration of Life service will be held 02:00 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Culley’s MeadowWood Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Timberlane Road with interment to follow.

Matt was born in St. Petersburg, FL, on May 11, 1965, to Howard Lee Kelley and Donna June Smith Kelley. Matt owned North Florida Home Inspections for over twenty years, which thrived under his dedication and honesty to his customers.

He was a true southern gentleman who could be found cheering on FSU, collecting guns, golfing with his friends Grant and Stan, kayaking, and spending time in Wakulla Springs and the Econfina River. As a lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed deer hunting on the lease, boating, and landscaping.

His personality could be perfectly described as “Happy Go Lucky”; he was always the life of the party, could make anybody laugh or feel special, was a man of his word, and held integrity most highly. His children were his pride and joy. With a huge love for coffee, he could be seen in Starbucks with his friend daily; so often that they could walk in and order the “Matt and Jim” and all the baristas knew exactly what to make without question.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Donna Kelley; best friend Stan Williams.

Matt is survived by his daughter, Alexandra “Lexie” Kelley; son, Matthew C. Kelley; sisters, Risa Williams and Megan Ehler; many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones that are too many to mention. Matt will be missed tremendously. There are no words to express our sorrow for a life ended to short. We look forward to seeing you again friend.
