

Matthew James Williams of Tallahassee, FL, known as Matt to all who knew him, passed away on Sunday, March 8th, 2026, at the age of 34 after a motorcycle accident. He was born in Tallahassee, FL on June 4, 1991 to parents Rick and Cathy Williams.
Matt grew up in Tallahassee and attended Lawton Chiles High School, Class of 2010. While he held various jobs throughout the years, the work he enjoyed most was as a prosthetic technician at the family business, Williams Orthotics and Prosthetics.
Matt was known for his easygoing personality and sense of humor. He loved striking up conversations with people and had a way of making others laugh with his jokes. Riding dirtbikes was a huge part of Matt’s life, a passion that began at just five years old when he first started racing on a 50cc. He spent many years racing and competing in amateur events, even qualifying for the Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynns.
Outside of racing, Matt enjoyed playing guitar, listening to music, and watching films in his free time. He also had a deep fascination with geography and loved learning about new places and exploring the world through maps, travel, and conversation. He also cherished time spent with his two brothers and extended family. Some of his favorite memories were made during family reunions at the beach house in Pensacola Beach and trips to St. George Island.
He will be deeply missed by his parents, Rick and Cathy Williams; his brothers, Andy and Nick; and numerous relatives and friends whose lives he touched. He was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Jimmie and Olga Nichols of Apalachicola and paternal grandparents, Richard and Joanne Williams of Tallahassee.
A celebration of Matt’s life will be held at 11:00am on Saturday March 21st, 2026, at Culley’s Funeral Home, 1737 Riggins Rd, Tallahassee, with viewing/visitation starting at 10:00am. A private family burial will take place in Apalachicola on Sunday March 22nd, 2026.
